Answers to the questions people actually ask, and a way to reach a person.

How do I get back in?

Go to sign in and type your email address. We email you a code. Type the code and you’re in. You can always sign in this way, even if you never chose a password. If you did choose one, you can use it on the screen where the code goes.

The code didn’t arrive

Check your spam folder first, since that’s where it usually is. Give it a minute, then ask for another code. If your email address was typed wrong, there was nothing to send, so check it carefully and try again.

How do I stop the emails?

Use the link at the bottom of any email to stop it. You can also turn emails on and off in your profile settings.

Who can see our story?

The parent who started the story decides who can see it. They can change it at any time. There are three settings: only the people helping take care of it, anyone holding a link that was sent, or anyone who has the web address. Leaving a message always takes a link the family sent.

Photos and dated entries are separate. Whichever setting they choose, only the parents taking care of the story can see them. Opening the story wider never opens the album with it, and no story is ever shown in a search engine.

How do I delete a story, and what goes?

There’s no delete button yet. Pausing hides a story from everyone but the parents and stops every email. Nothing is deleted.

To delete a story for good, write to hello@elliepost.com and it will be removed by hand, along with everything on it: the photos, the messages, and the entries. This cannot be undone.

Someone sent me a link and it doesn’t work

It may have been copied only part of the way, or the family may have made a new one. Read what to do about it on that link isn’t working.

Reach a person

Write to hello@elliepost.com. Tell us the email address on your account, and what you were doing when it stopped working. That’s usually enough to sort it out.

We can’t promise how quickly you’ll hear back.
